Landmark Realty Group’s Commitment to Community Fosters Long-Lasting Connections
One of Landmark Realty Group’s guiding beliefs is that “We are coaches, mentors, hikers, fundraisers, relief workers and stewards of the lakes and land.”
With that ideal at the forefront of their work, it’s no surprise that Landmark Realty Group is deeply rooted within its communities. The company started in 2004 with two people – Landmark’s founders, Sam Lupas and Jane Ebberts. The founders recognized a need for bespoke client service while serving Cashiers, North Carolina and the surrounding communities.
Landmark’s impact began to broaden as it served more clients and attracted more brokers while maintaining a steadfast passion for giving back. Come 2023, Landmark has entered a new chapter with five offices on the Plateau, reaching Macon, Jackson, and Transylvania counties.
Landmark is uniquely structured to offer both real estate services and vacation rentals. It’s a seamless fit when agents connect with second-home buyers who might be interested in renting out a property as a full-time or part-time vacation rental. The symbiotic relationship between the two empowers the Landmark team to reach more people across North Carolina and nationwide.
The company’s growth fueled their ability to support their communities, and they have developed extensive connections and philanthropic endeavors throughout western North Carolina. With a blend of volunteering, sponsorships, and monetary donations, Landmark is a charitable leader across the Plateau in North Carolina’s show-stopping mountains.
Preserving and maintaining nature’s most treasured spaces is critical to the team, and they are prominent and consistent sponsors of The Village Green, 13 acres of preserved pristine marsh and green space in Cashiers. They also sponsor the annual Joy Garden Tour, an exclusive tour of the area’s lush gardens.
Another major giving initiative is the Highlands Dog Show, a fun and casual event featuring the area’s four-legged pals. This fan-favorite event includes categories like “Waggiest Tail,” “Looks Like Owner,” and “Happiest Dog,” among others. As a dog-friendly office, Landmark knew their team would rally behind a cause dedicated to man’s best friend.
Music plays an integral role in North Carolina culture, which is why Landmark is heavily involved in supporting multiple events: Porchfest, a one-day event featuring local musicians performing across the town of Highlands, and the Bear Shadow Festival, a three-day music extravaganza featuring Spoon, The Head and The Heart, and Jason Isbell. Along with Saturdays on Pine in partnership with the Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Groovin’ on The Green, a free music event on Fridays in the summer months at The Village Green in Cashiers. Landmark also cultivates community connections at the Center for Life Enrichment, a non-profit organization that provides educational and entertaining programs on various topics.
The list continues – Landmark also supports various golf tournaments, first responder appreciation events, and a community appreciation Chili Cookoff event for the last 17 years. Landmark wanted to ensure everyone on their team had an opportunity to get involved with a cause they are passionate about, which is why their impact is so impressive and far-reaching.
The Landmark family sees themselves not just as real estate brokers but as advocates and resources for the people and places of the beautiful place they call home.
